Lenkisem Primary School

Lenkisem Primary School is a thriving well managed school with over four hundred pupils on roll. Schools for Kenya have already built a pit latrine and an eco kitchen here and recently visited the school to hand out books and visual aids donated by Mr Anthony Solomon, one of our generous sponsors.

Once the children complete their eight years of primary education, however, there is currently no provision for secondary education. Schools for Kenya have decided to build a new secondary school here, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2009. This will also serve Lenkisem, Olmoti, Amboseli and Ngong Narok primary schools. We believe this is a vital development in providing secondary school education for hundreds of children in the future.

The new secondary school will open in February 2010 with the first intake of approximately forty-five pupils.

The secondary school will share the site with the adjacent primary school. In addition, the school will benefit from access to both boys' and girls' dormitories, a well equipped kitchen and dining hall.

Also on the site is a well equipped pharmacy and clinic for pupils and the local community.

Schools for Kenya believe this to be a perfect site for construction of our first new secondary school.
