The Need for Teachers

In remote regions of Kenya such as the Amboseli National Park, schools are often understaffed.

At Olmoti Primary School, for example, in 2007 when Schools for Kenya first arrived, there were only three teachers to teach eight classes. Children were in school but the education they were receiving was far from adequate.

Sponsor a Teacher

While schools are in the early stages of their development budgets will be low and there will be a need for extra funding. Without this help, the schools are not able to employ sufficient staff to guarantee the children a good education.

In such cases, Schools for Kenya hope to raise short term funding, through sponsorship, to help the schools employ more teachers. Even small amounts of money are welcome and can make a difference to the number of teachers employed.

Already, we have individual sponsors, UK schools, and church groups donating various amounts of money to sponsor teachers but more is needed.
